A voice for the Earth.
Our mission is to give voice to the earth. The intention was to create an everyday essential that’s not only useful, plastic-free, and beautiful, but contributes to something bigger—the collective good.
SPARE is a mindful choice to cherish what we have while taking less from the Earth. How we fill our space matters. The phrase “less is more” has never been more relevant; by simplifying, we make room for a richer life experience.
We’re in a time of reorientation and healing—a time to reflect on our place on Earth and take bold steps toward restoring balance to the web of life. We’re excited to offer our colorful bags as vessels for change, hoping they’ll not only hold your joy but also the seeds for a healthier planet.

Gratitude for people and place.
We appreciate all of the hearts and hands that come together to bring our goods to life. Handcrafted in small batches in Portland, OR, our bags are designed for lasting durability. We’re confident this will be the last laundry basket you’ll ever need.
Audrey Slosberg, Founder
SPARE was born out of a deep desire to serve the Earth.
At my core, I am a healer, always inspired to help make the world a more beautiful place.
In 2024, as I stood in front of my broken plastic laundry baskets, I felt an overwhelming frustration with the prevalence of disposable plastic products that harm both our lives and the environment. I was about to go out and buy more of it, but that’s when I received a wave of inspiration: Create something better!
Design has always been a source of joy for me, especially when beauty and utility intersect. I believe the objects we use every day should not only serve a purpose but also delight us. They should be well-crafted, pleasant to touch, and leave a light footprint on the Earth.
SPARE embodies these ideals, creating products that blend functionality, beauty, and sustainability.
We believe our future as a group lies in interconnection and interdependence. When we set out to create something that serves the collective good, the path naturally unfolds with ease. SPARE came to together in this way — with the help of thoughtful, local talent.
